Contents: 

ABR rate-based congestion control loop using resource management cells, the use of the payload type field in the ATM header, public ATM network addresses, private ATM end system addresses, hierarchical ATM address space and prefix-based routing protocols, methods of ATM interworking. LAN emulation: LAN emulation clients, LAN emulation service components, LANE control and data connections. Multiprotocol over ATM (MPOA): IP layer 3 routing versus ATM layer 2 switching, edge devices and MPOA servers, virtual router concept, ATM shortcuts, coexistence of LANE and MPOA. Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS): Label switched routers and label switched paths, the label stack, virtual private networks, tunneling, the shim header.
